2017-18 Fall/Winter Weather Thread

In 24 hours we go from almost 60 degrees down to the low teens. From melting a covering if snow to replacing it with a fresh blanket of 8 inches of snow. Time to fire up the tractor and push this stuff outta my way!

Wow. You messed up that pretty yard of white stuff cutting a path through it. :D

26 here with a high of 45 today. Clear blue skies.

Same here, it was high 40's into the 50's the past few days leading up to 60 yesterday, lots of melting. Supposed to get 1-3 inches of rain overnight.60° at 6 am but more rain as temps drop rapidly throughout the day.
We'll be in a ice rink as temps drop into the low 20's this evening.

A very chill 27* this morning. I know, dpk, that isn't COLD in your world. LOL
Hopefully, it warms a bit with sunshine.

Cold is cold. It's 32 here in Georgia. I had a week of nice temps and then the bottom dropped.

Not too bad today with a high of 44, but another cold snap comes in tonight, giving us a high of 24 for Monday and a high of 15 for Tuesday. Starts to warm up again for Wednesday and there doesn't appear to be any frigged, below freezing days after that for the foreseeable future.

Looking more and more likely that ice/snow is in my future. Got out a bucket and scooped up some sand/gravel to spread on the front
steps --- just in case. I don't want to bust my butt on the steps like I did 3 years ago --- bounced down them just like the cartoons. LOL

Ain’t no reason to go outside if you don’t hafta.
Be safe.

Well, son-of-a-b, I just looked at the weather forecast. 2-4 inches of snow predicted this afternoon and another 1-3 overnight. :(

And, NO, I'm not running out for bread, milk, or TP. :D

Booze TRL booze don't forget the booze! . :beerbang:

Today according to the guesser:
''Lingering light snow or flurries for parts of southeastern New England, accumulating a couple of inches.''
Then 2-4 inches of snow on Wednesday

Makes me wish I still had my old truck with a plow.....nah it doesn't!!!!!

Correction, guesser now says 3-6 inches Wednesday, we'll see.

I think this might be a record number of school closings for Kansas. Dangerous wind chills appear to be the reason. I've never been a huge fan of Summer, but I'd rather have the heat than these temps.

We got another 6 last night. 3rd time this week that I had to clear out the driveway. Under the snow, the ground is still all covered with a layer of ice from last Friday's ice storm. I think I have had to clear the driveway more this winter than I have the last two combined.

If anybody hasn't heard from Texas by noon on Wednesday, send search party.
Looks like all the sleet/snow has passed me to the South and East. 28* with a very stiff North wind. A very few sprinkles of sleet on the steps, but not enough to make the steps slick. Austin is having real problems on the roads.
My plan for the day is to stay inside, drink hot beverages and watch TV. Only time I see me going outside is if the mailman puts something in the box.

A little snow and ice headed to Georgia. This is not good.

and really, I swear, I need milk.

I had to go to the local store yesterday because I used the last of my milk on my cereal. It was a madhouse --- people buying
everything in sight. Grabbed my 1/2 gallon and got the hell out.
:D:D

I know that song.
