2018-19 Fall/Winter Weather Thread

Started raining last night and it's still raining. Weather guesser said we passed the yearly average several weeks ago. But on the bright side you don't have to shovel rain.

33 here this morning. High of 54 today. A 30 degree change from yesterday. It'll be back up in the 70s Thursday and stay there for a week. So say the weatherettes.

We’re supposed to get some rain starting Wednesday night and ending early Friday morning. Forecast says 1” - 3” depending on location.
Possible shallow mudslides in the local burn areas.

So far this month we've gotten over 11 inches of rain with more on the way.
I fervently hope Mother Nature gets all this precipitation out of her system before it's cold enough to snow!
11 inches of rain could be up to 11 feet of snow using the 1 inch = 1 foot equation.

24 degrees outside right now. Got a 1" dusting of snow overnight. Just enough to have to go sweep off the front walk and path off of the deck.

I'm on the second day of my 3 days of winter. 29 this morning, 24 with the wind chill. The lows will be back in the 40s by Friday.
This is how I handle it.

Upper 60s for the next 10 days. It’s good because I just seeded some bare spots in the backyard. Rain forecasted for Wednesday.

Highs in the 70s, lows in the 60s for the next few days.

Highs in the 70s, lows in the 60s for the next few days.

YEAH!! Ain't it grand?? This getting up with temps in the low 50's and highs of mid-60's, sucked!! Back to morning temps of 70's with highs in the 80's is good stuff. Santa has to stop and put wheels on his sleigh when he gets to this part of the world. (it is okay to talk about Santa isn't it?)

We have a weekend weather curse going on here. Snow in the state the past two weekends and next weekend doesnt look any different other than it will be slightly colder for us and should keep the precipitation at mostly snow allowing for higher totals.

More rain..<sigh> Weather guesser said we are almost 20 inches of rain over the average yearly and we have another month to go with even more rain in the forecast.
Need to buy a boat..

2.75" of rain yesterday. A high of 44* today with a cold North wind. Not a speck of sunshine, just dark, grey clouds for the last
several days.
Weather guessers say we might see some sunshine tomorrow.

High 45 with drizzling rain and wind chills in the 30s here. Looks like we will have those low wind chills until sometime Monday. No sunshine. This is crud weather.

9:12 a.m. Sunday, December 9, 2018.

Just got text from Raleigh, NC and they have six inches of snow on the ground and still snowing.

It's still overcast and 50 degrees here.

Almost 7 inches of snow in my neck of the woods in North Carolina, and it's still coming down.
