2021 Silly Season

woah wait. I thought it was almost impossible to have a cup team these days, the charter system is all screwed up, Spire this n that, can't survive running in the back of the field? Anybody examined this young man's head? One of these days some people will realize that some drivers/teams are artists of saving a buck and making money doing it.
Justin Marks is quite a savvy businessman. He owns the GoPro Motorplex and partially owned HScott Motorsports (won a championship with Justin Haley in K&N) and has been involved with Chip Ganassi on the business side with the Xfinity team before closing.

This man has experience it also helps his Dad is a solid businessman as well.

I am looking forward to what he can do out of the gate. Probably have to rent some cars for 2021. Young fella named Jones might be a good driver.

Holy **** indeed.
IDK if Justin Marks ever actually got to the top of Mount Everest or not, but he's looking to climb a very difficult mountain now. Hot Damn, I wish him all the best!

I thought Levine's comments near the end were quite revealing and honest. He said if NASCAR thinks sponsors are going to keep paying top end dollars of $500K per race, that was a pipe dream. He said the biggest deals will be half that @$250K . Keep reducing from there for lesser sponsors. The TV money is BIG, but how much gets to the teams/owners? Not sure. Certainly times are changing, and the $$ are falling. Also, what position will sponsors (or potential sponsors) take relative to next season given the challenges from Covid, depressed economic conditions via the dogmatic closings by so many states?

That article isn’t even entertaining the idea that Bowyer could be the #14 driver next season.

It’s one thing for ‘silly season speculation’ to assume Larson wants back ASAP... But could he be happy doing the dirt stuff for awhile longer?

He feels with the announcements as of late that Bubba will more than likely stay with RPM.
Nope, I'm pretty sure I saw that posted somewhere. I'll try to dig it up, but if it hasn't been confirmed yet, must have been false.

That linked story confuses me. What auto manufacturer is going to want its brand tied to Larson? What sponsor would want their brand tied to him? I can't think of any. Too much downside.
Time will tell if he has "Pete Rosed" himself.

Well being that Chevy already dumped him and Toyota has more divers than seats I'd have to say Ford, but they don't seem exactly short on talent either.

I guess the sponsor would have to the right fit but I could see someone giving him a second chance. I guess you'd have to be in the right market that your customers would like it.

Usually when drivers are dominating a season in Xfinity and get moved to Cup the next year, they tend to wildly underperform for a few years. I think Cindric should stay put for another 2 years and then go part-time in Cup in 3 years.

Going part time is a lot tougher these days, esp. with the hard limit of four cars per team. Teams can't afford to run a car sitting out part of the time. As to sharing a full-time car, few driver want to share a seat, esp. experienced ones, and most sponsors don't want two faces associated with the brand.

Wondef what the next big domino to fall is? Haven't had any big news this week thus far.

Thriv5 will be debut their partnership in the 104th running of the NTT Indy Car Indy 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday August 23rd. The partnership in part grants Thriv5 prominent positioning, promoting the concept of excellence in racing by being "fueled" by Thriv5.

"I am excited to announce this partnership with Thriv5 and Pinnancle Sports & Entertainment," commented team owner, Rick Ware Racing. "I have been working countlessly to continue to grow this team, by bringing in partners across all forms of motorsports, through a unique marketing and b2b platform. Our partners are seeing a benefit unlike most others offer, since we are reaching audiences not only in the US, but across the world."

They make dietary 'supplements', in case you were wondering.

"We did the work, so you won't have to."

Tony campaigning for him. He's in love with the dirt god, wouldn't be surprised #14, as long as they can get the sponsors and Ford to okay.

Interesting, we'll see how this unfolds as time goes on. Remember, Tony has to answer to Gene who in turn has to get the blessing of Edsiel Ford and sponsors on the 14.

It's all lip service ATM.

I thought the 14 was Tony's baby. The question might me would he dump one of "his guys' to bring in another one of "his" guys?

We'll see, but until Edsiel Ford says yes... I doubt this will come to reality this year, I'd say 2022 Larson will be attached to someone in NASCAR.

It would be way more than I thought Larson would be able to get at this point. But, the stars seem to be aligning in that direction. All speculation of course.

I think Tony wants him back in something, by the end of this year, to get the initial heat out of the way. Then grab him in offseason to replace Clint. Just thoughts.

I'd hate to see Briscoe's hard work go to waste IMO, but this is crazy and hear me out on this move.

Either Clint or Briscoe moves to the 14, but if SHR re-signs Bowyer, they have GoFas Racing to fallback on with their "technical alliance" with them. Briscoe moves to the 32 and Lajoie has been speculated to move to the 37 next year to replace Preece.

Just something that could happen.

I think Bowyer has another year left in him, and Larson takes over in '22.

I also wouldn't be surprised if Roush tries to snatch up Briscoe for the 6.
