As the members that have been here awhile know, Johanna Long is local and I know her. I was the first on this forum to sing her praises followed closely by Andy and others. She is a hotshoe that needs a chance in good equipment to find out just how good she really is racing against the drivers in NNS. I support her as well as Danica and any other driver that I think should be given a fair chance.

It's really not that hard to pick out the talent from the crowd after a few races. 5 yeas is more than enough to understand that she doesn't have it.
 
Danica will never have a fair chance in Nascar. It doesn't matter if she does catch on and becomes the next Tony Stewart. "Old school" people still will say she doesn't belong in Nascar.

exactly, people sad she wouldn't win a pole, she gets one, people say she won't get a top 10. she gets one...Now this year everyone thinks she should win the champion ship or she doesn't belong in cup.

I'm not emotional, why don't you dogg the other 25 losers in the cup series? fair is fair...or is it? Danica is an easy target because she is a woman and most people like you, think they don't belong

Those occurred at plate tracks too.

She still finished ahead of only three full-time drivers in points - Ragan, Reutimann, and Kvapil - and they all had vastly inferior equipment. If she turns things around I'll eat crow but as of now she's shown very little.

I'm not Danica hater, but this post is just ridiculous. Fair chance? She's to a top ride in some of the best equipment.
 
Wasnt moving her to a full time cup position kind of asking for trouble ?? If she beat Kyle Busch in the Nationwide series a few times it would be a bit better :rolleyes:

She's also transitioning from cars that have nothing in common with cup cars. She's had people hating on her since before she ever even stepped foot in a Cup car. Don't even try and act like she hasn't. I saw people saying she didn't belong before she ever even ran that Arca race at Daytona.

I'm a realist. Danica isn't a bad driver just because she's a woman, but she isn't a good driver just because she's a woman either.

Petty's comments were extra funny because of all the rashes I knew they would cause. This is fun.

Hey, if in 2 or 3 years she hasn't accomplished anything I'll admit I was wrong. People just love to put her down because she hasn't taken to it like Stewart did when he came from Indy. I think some people don't quite understand how different Indy cars and stock cars are. It's like if your job is being a dentist and the next day you become a heart surgeon with no training.

#1 - She's never shown a glimpse of being talented in stocks cars at ANY level of NASCAR. She's been strictly mediocre from day 1. Results: She gets a cup ride because she's a marketing. That more than a "fair chance"

#2 - Whether or not "people" like her isn't relevant as to whether or not she gets a "fair chance." Fans don't impact how you race, your equipment, team and talent are what matters.

I don't have any problem with Danica. The ridiculous hype kills me. Daytona poll sounded like she won the championship.

Fans that buy the hype are blind. She hasn't shown ANYTHING to justify confidence that she will be successful. Right now, nascar and SHR will ride her hype all the way to the bank until it's over.

She's never had a tremendous amount of success in any series - Formula Ford, Formula Vauxhall, Toyota Atlantic, IndyCar, and now NASCAR. The truth is that plenty of drivers haven't gotten nearly as many or as amazing opportunities as she has, which stem largely from her appearance.

I understand what you're saying but she's been performing heart surgery since 2010.
