I'M GLAD THERE'S AN ALTERNATIVE FROM 4M

frank shickel and i were chattin about how it was when we pitted in the infield at peoria and how amazing it was that no one was hurt bad or worse. it was fun to pit in the infield tho. course we were just kids then and didn't know any better LOL. :D
 
i went to the ump summer nationals at 34 speedway in west burlington iowa last night. wow what a show! shannon babb set fast time. with a 14.670 on the 3/8th mile. jimmy mars won the feature, $10.000.-- with don o'neal 2nd. and shannon babb 3rd. shannon babb has enough points that he is the 2005 ump summer nationals $30,000.-- winner with a new summer nationals record of 14 wins. there are 2 races left so shannon could stretch that record a little more! great racing!
 
hope all the peoria racers are having a nice night off tonight, settin back knockin down a couple cold ones :beerbang: :p i got my van serviced today,and cleaned up for a change. got some of the peoria pit dirt off of it LOL. I told lisa i cant help her on her pit crew anymore, cant get mommas van dirty! :eek: just kiddin lisa. :lol2:

hey steve, yeah i was outside for proly 10hrs saturday. it was hot for sure but just a nornal late july day seemed to me. i think it got to little over 90* well i needed to get some things done anyway. it was the first saturday i'd been home in a while. ;)
 
had a blast at macon . not a dent in the car. the people and owners were really nice. started 16 ended 10 . really no slouches on the track. i think there was 7 or 8 past track champions.

the officiating sucked at the track last night..john should have won that heat...

harv never in my lifetime of racing have i seen a call like that. john'l get e'm next week. what was their excucuse for restart and running the last lap if they were reverting back to last completed lap. and gonna give it to 83? that was a waste of equpiment right?
 
if you end a race early the race ends there. you dont go back a lap because there's no more race. nascar even knows that.
 
Hey Steve.................

Did ya make it to FC this week? We got tore up by a Richard Head last week. Said he didn't want to run Spoon so he came to FC. Only thing is,He brought the Spoon driving style with him. Hes my HERO now..............Hope to make it back by next week...............................................BB :eek:

i hear ya me too...ive been going bonkers..lol...i wonder if they are doing what they were talking about doing..making it a pay service...i hope not..i wont pay to be nosey..lol :D steve you shoulda seen the track at peoria last night...it was the very worse track i have ever seen in my life...it made the summer nationals show last year look like asphalt..it was bad..they stopped the semis before the lm semis to go out and grate it...it was much better then...my brother just mangled his rear shocks in just two laps in the hotlaps...they looked like fishing hooks thats how bent and twisted they were :mad:

Welllllll........................

.....We made it to FC last nite. Hassled with the car all nite Push,Loose,Push.................Missed transfer in the Heat by one spot. :mad: Missed set up for Semi, :eek: but somehow made the show. Made radical changes for the feature. Started 18th,and OMG did it work. Ed started passing cars. When he passed the New Rayburn,Pro Powered car of Tim Lance for 11th place, I would think things were starting to look up. Ended up 13,but I must say,We're Very happy.................. :D .....................BB

Bill, I been doing a lot of, un-race related stuff, my kid bought a house at Trivoli and dads been helping him do some work on it. Not spending much time doing racing things this past couple of weeks. My van is setting in his garage with the fuel pump out., gotta find time to drop the tank and change that out.It stopped on me out on 116 and had it towed to his house,. I checked the fuel pressure, hmmm, suposed to be 65psi. to start and run at 60 psi,,, it wazzzz 17 psi. I guess i can't complain 184,000 miles!! I got the parts from Miss Lisa's dad and it's still setting for me to find time to fix it. I did get it up on stands and got the tools and parts ready to fix it .,,,, I just hate to work on any vehicle that is not a streetrod or a race car LOL. but sometimes you have ta! :beerbang:

Time flys when you're havin fun LOL! I got the fuel pump back in the Astro. It sure runs better with 60 psi.fuel pressure. I did a tune-up while I had it on the disabled list. She is getting the old 22 mpg now... Lisa and I worked her race car over yesterday , tune-up, plugs, dist. cap, rotor, yada yada yada LOL. Sure made a difference from last week. Sure good to see her back running good again, the girl can flat azzed drive race car. Yep, she sure can ... Good to see Steve carcrazy7 back at peoria last light...

We've been lookin around for other tracks,for next year. Fairbury Sat. Track looked fast, but a little narrow. Good food .Nice place. Lasalle Sunday. Lotsa bank. Looked Super Fast. Good food again. Good facility, But a real long tow. Think I saw Lisa. But I don't think she remembers me. :eek: Oh Well.........................................BB

but im curious as to who owns 4m and did it start out as a dirt track forum and have the other forums added as an afterthought?

jump right in anytime! i've been reading 4.m for several years, [my son has been on line for about 8 or 9 years] i don't remember if it started as a dirt track forum tho, LOL must be gettin old---er. i asked google the question, who owns www.4m.net and didn't find much out. maybe someone will have the answer.

we're from the peoria,ill area. at least most of us are :D i'm actualy about 100miles west of peoria,near burlington, iowa. i go over to peoria to help lisa montgomery on her race team every weekend and sometimes make a trip during the week if she needs help with the car. ;)

Well for now it's Gerald Newton the same guy that owns Arizona Shirts. I also heard about Clinton Doll too. But to me it's not like it was before. Going down hill a lot.

Ahhh as i was reading some of the post i figured you all had to be pretty close to eachother, your not too terribly far from me in indiana.

.....samcurry,,,,I'm from Havana Il. We race mostly at Farmer City, about 45 miles from Indiana. Ron,,,,, we plan on running the rest of the month at Farmer City. That depends on the crowd, and car count. If its there, Mr. Hammer will continue to run..................................BB
 
Lisa and Donnie Montgomery

everyone please keep the montgomery family in your thoughts and prayers. the doctors had to amputate mr. montgomerys legs above his knees yesterday. he is diatabetic. we pray for a speedy recovery. mr. montgomery injoyes watching his kids, lisa and donnie, race at the peoria speedway. mr. montgomery is in the methodist hospital in peoria, il. recovering from the surgery. lisa, donnie and the montgomery family need our support. i'l try to get mr. montgomerys address at the hospital so we can send him a card, and wish him a speedy recovery.

With all this going on,the Racing Family always seems to be able to come together, and bring about miracles. Lets pray for another one right here..
