It's a new year, there will be plenty to bitch about for those that enjoy that sort of thing, is it optics this year for you?

yeah so far I don't have much either. I thought they looked good for the first shot out of the box, I wonder what tomorrow will bring after they have awhile to look at the data.
I'm not going to do the pissing match anymore. I'm with @DUN24. I'm with @FLRacingFan, and @LewTheShoe, and everyone else here who have explained in clear detail why we disagree with going in this direction at highest level of racing there is in America. I agree with what Matt Weaver is posting on Twitter about his fundamental objections, I agree with what Mark Martin has said on the subject. And yes, I agree with Kyle Busch's remarks today *cringe*. My reaction to his willingness to speak his mind is to agree or disagree with his statements, never to get so triggered to think that he must be muzzled and made to tow the company line.
There are dozens more, prominent figures and regular racing fans. We aren't all crazy, and we don't all have it out for NASCAR. If NASCAR announced that they were scrapping the whole thing and going back to something close to the 2018 package, we'd all cheer. Those who strongly support the new rules would be disappointed and critical, and the shoe would be on the other foot. I presume it will be eventually, given the way different factions win out and NASCAR changes direction often. Because much of this was in development before Jim France took over, I'm genuinely, honestly curious about what his thoughts are and how the current NASCAR hierarchy will manage this as it evolves. Also curious about how much of this approach gets preserved or usurped by the Gen 7 car.
The boys were back the last test, cars sounded like they were turning good RPM.s and they were running all over that track. Considering they had 5 wheel force cars in the test, the rest of them were pretty salty.
Last years racing was pretty good. I haven't watched any racing I considered bad but quite a few that were boring. I like to keep in mind that everyone is racing under the same rules and the car has to fit in a specific box. IMO what separates the teams is the quality of the work and the dedication and training of the pit crews.I will need to see some actual races in order to make a decision. I liked last year’s racing and on principle I’m not happy about dumbing things down.
So from what I get out of the NASCAR VP of devolpment is that “you better say you like it for the better of the company or else.” What a dope I wish someone with balls like Dale Earnhardt, Darrell Waltrip, Rusty Wallace or Tony Stewart were around to tell that dude to pound sand.“For the drivers we know who don’t like it, they are very good at what they do and they get paid a really good chunk of money to do things that take a lot of talent. If they want to spout off about (this racing) not needing a whole lot of talent, then eventually that will hit them in the pocketbook, too. They should be careful.” - NASCAR VP of Racing Development
It’s obvious the sanctioning body has replaced an actual racing product driven by top tier skilled drivers with a desperate need to simulate closer racing to savor slipping ratings and fans as long as possible. Gross.
Imagine Roger Goodell coming out and saying that any members of the NFL body that criticize the non-call in the Saints game will be hit in the pocketbook and should be careful.

If Big Bill France were here he would tell them the same thing and if they didnt like it, he would tell them to go pound sand. I believe KDB got told that. He ain't no super star.If Big Bill France were here he would tell them the same thing and if they didnt like it, he would tell them to go pound sand. This is NASCARS show, not the Kyle Busch show.
As far as the racability and the maneuverability and the passing back and forth and runs and such, slingshot moves, I don’t foresee that coming. There’s not enough draft effect on the straightaways that give you enough speed to launch you into the next corner.
People here now would lose their minds if Big Bill was running the show lol. The man had a sold out race at Talladega and the drivers wanted to boycott because of the tires and Bill said load your stuff and get out and ran the race with Grand Americans cars I think it was. He didnt care who you were, this was his show.I believe KDB got told that. He ain't no super star.

Yeah he kinda contradicted himself saying they took the skill out of it but in the next sentence said it was gonna take skill to figure out your line and your runs and play it like a chess match. He needs to wait till he runs a lap in competition not a testRan off one of the stars, Flock because he was making trouble trying to start of all things a drivers union. Reading the long version of KDB's interview he had some points to look at, but popping off like he did was uncalled for.
Dude really? I know youve been here for at least 3 name changes so you know my history.

It's always about Kyle and his over blown ego. In another article he considers himself as one of the top five Nascar drivers of all time.Yeah he kinda contradicted himself saying they took the skill out of it but in the next sentence said it was gonna take skill to figure out your line and your runs and play it like a chess match. No I dont spot for Joey, I'm semi retired. I dont go to all of the races anymore but still make it out when I can. Ive spotted for many many drivers in several series but in Cup it was Jimmy Spencer. I also do driver development in the K&N Series.Spotter22 what team do u work for? Are you the spotter for joey logano? What other teams have u worked for
Big Bill was a promoter and did whatever it took for close competition. Hard to say how he would feel about this package because he damn sure wasnt afraid to change the rulesBig Bill likely would not have allowed a shyte show to go forward either.

Some feel they have to see close parameter racing regardless of how much skill it takes to do it, they crave the visual effect of what they see at the plate tracks, regardless of reduction to the finer points. They could careless how difficult it is for the driver inside of the car, they just want to be entertained on their screen.
We will soon see that the previous package has been scapegoated for the decline and boredom of the people imo.
Jimmie is sounding really confident about the HMS camp.
I hope he's right. We need Ally in victory lane to keep sponsors...lol
Go to 2 hours 53 minutes to see some on track action worth watching and hearing.
