I hope that the sponsorship issues with the 10 and 14 teams can be put to bed so the only concerns will be on track.
 
When I caught wind of the size of the company, Natures Bakery, I always thought
they bit off more than they could chew. Hindsight , they should of tried the associate
sponsor path first. Oh well.

Hard to do when you have 3-5 drivers in the car and yet he was able to get them all running pretty darn good. adding lipstick doesn't change the fact it is a pig.
One other thing I will mention, Harvick was getting JJ's cars at the start, that's pretty darn good equipment. Will he be as good this year running all of SHR equipment? I think he will because of the CC.
 
GREG: that you would respect one of them regardless of the context.
I was a Clint fan and always thought he did pretty good considering he raced for MWR.
He had a shot at a championship until Gordon T Boned him while running second in points.

A couple of years ago @Allenbaba reported that the general consensus of those in the garage was that DP had progressed as far as possible. In my experience if a driver is going to take a step and win races they show flashes of brilliance prior to accomplishing it. At this point I believe DP finishes on the lead lap about 30% of the time so there is much work to be done.

Is that not the general consensus here? It should be. She is not going to get better. Richard petty said all about the subject you need to know.
 
DP is done, she couldn't sign any legitimate sponsors so she signed the Hedge fund darling NB. So go ahead and litigate, but its hard to get cash from a cash strapped corporation.

Doesn't mean she can't fire off a win or two under the right circumstances though. Regan Smith won the Southern 500 with Furniture Row when they were considered a back marker, so there's that...

Not good for SHR. Their cash cow has run her course sadly. HMS has the only one you can hitch your wagons to indefinitely but at least he competes.

I choose to believe in my driver...I'm a bit discouraged, but the belief is there. I REALLY feel she can run a series of top 10s and 5s....believe

Nearly every time she has been having a good run, in or near the top ten, somebody has "accidentally" wrecked her. and it's always her fault...because she shouldn't be out there to start with. <sarcasm alert> The only way she wins is by a fluke occurrence as suggested above. Rain, tornado, fog, locusts, etc...but she has the equipment to be able to knock off an occasional top 10-15. Those seem to be getting harder to come by.

When joey chopped her I was sooo mad....
I think the best chance is on a super speedway or road course...if she won on a road course Id dance for days and days

Please, please, please don't take this as a knock on DP in any way as my comment is to be taken at face value.

I expect Chase Elliott to win this year because he has shown he can run up front, HMS performance looks to have improved and the kid has a year of experience under his belt.

I expect Erik Jones to be aggressive, fast and to get top 5's and 10's plus wad up cars this year because the kid has talent and will be in good equipment but is still a rookie.

I expect the 48 team to be able to adjust to whatever changes Nascar implements because they always have.

DP and the 10 team have been fairly consistent over the past 3 years so my expectation for them is that they will do about the same as normal in 2017. At this point DP is a veteran driver so more experience shouldn't come into play, she is with the same team so there should not be changes in the performance of the cars prepared for her, I didn't notice much in the way of improvement for the team in the second half of last year so I don't think another year with the same CC will change results with any significance. DP is not an aggressive driver so the new "go, go, go" rules Nascar has put in place may not benefit her.

I may be 100% wrong on the above expectations but I feel I have given reasonable reasons as to why I have those expectations.

The "promoting competing products" statement is a red herring and has been proven incorrect. The bottom line is that DP needed a primary sponsor and Nature's Bakery stepped up. SHR bean counters questioned the ability of NB to fund the 10 car but NB honchos said they had cash on hand to cover their commitment. SHR officials said "OK" but shortly thereafter NB wanted to renegotiate the terms of payment and still owe SHR money from 2016 in addition to 2017 and 2018. On one hand you can't blame SHR for entering into an agreement with NB but on the other hand there were hacks like me and several other that questioned the whole deal right from the get go. The take home message for SHR is that if you lie down with dogs you get up with fleas.

The Danica I have a crush on is Danica McKellar as she is a physical beauty as well as highly intelligent and accomplished. Regarding DP do you have any issues with what I said or how I said it? I am trying my absolute best to tiptoe on egg shells when speaking of her due to the nature of some of her fans.

I was hoping there may have been a billionaire hidden in the
NB fold that had a motorsports itch. Sounds like that's
not the case. My guess is Ford will step up. Hmmmm,
maybe an Ecoboost livery for a few races??? Danica is
still ultra popular and good for the sport.

An exhibit filed with the suit includes numerous Patrick photos from Instagram that show Nature's Bakery had "liked" the post."

From what I have read it seems like FoMoCo will keep the 10 and 14 cars in business this year but who knows beyond that as it doesn't make sense for Ford to sponsor RFR and SHR cars other than the odd fill in.
