NASCAR Death Bed

So, how much longer will it take for NASCAR to die?

To offer a reasonable, respectful answer. I don't think NASCAR will ever die. Will it contract? Quite possibly. Will the schedule shrink back to its former 29 race season? Maybe so. No one on this forum knows for sure. Could it go back to a more regional sport? Who knows for sure? One aspect that is often overlooked is the changing demographics of the American population. And, we're no where near the car culture that we used to be, even as recent as the eighties. I think the sport is cemented into the American sports entertainment as much as the NFL, MLB and the NBA. All three of which have had their problems with stagnation over the course of their existence. So, my best guess is NASCAR will survive,

I have always maintained Nascar will be around in one form or another for many years. The biggest challenge for Nascar is to cultivate a younger audience but that is much easier said then done.

With an average age of 60 the Nascar fan is aging out and dying off much faster than new fans are being added. If IndyCar can survive so can Nsscar.

The question is how will all these newer 1.5 mile tracks make enough money to survive after Nascar contracts fully? Most of these tracks will have a tough time existing with one date, hell they are having a tough time now with 2, they can't fill seats now, even after tearing out thousands.

If Nascar does not get similar dollars in the next broadcast deal it will be tough going for the tracks. It is possible that some will be bulldozed and repurposed.

venues that large hosts many events besides racing all year long

I know IMS has a lot going on and I’m sure other tracks do too. However they have a huge nut to crack so finding as many purposes as possible is wise.

Ah, those that live in the negative don't want to look at any of that or the financial statements. BTW Rockingham is throwing a big do concert, info announcement coming up the 10th.

I am fine with tracks making as much dough as they can through any legal means. MIS is doing lights this year and I hope the weather is good and lotsa people go.

All these tracks will die quickly if they don't get racing. You can only do so many concerts and racing classes.
Nobody is losing a face so what are you talking about? More Speculation with no factual basis.

How's it feel...the typo deal? Most of these tracks can't sustain 2 races, when the schedule is reduced, what then?

The irony with Rockingham is one of the reasons they lost their dates was capacity. If the track had been kept up and was still on the schedule it would have empty seats at its date(s)

The Rock was fun while it lasted

Right, not filling capacity. Not the need for more seats

Huh? NH just lost one this year, so your statement is false.
My statement is correct, Smith Moved a race to Vegas, its wasnt a mandated schedule change by NASCAR genius. Its the same company that owns NH. Nobody is losing a race, they are under contract.

They lost a race dude they have one not two, wtf are you talking about? Losing a date is losing a race...next.
lol. The race was moved by the parent company to a bigger Market, you cant be this dumb.

Apparently you are, NH lost a date, whether it got moved or not is besides the point the track lost a date, there is no other way around it. Spin it all you want, did both those Vegas races sell out?

Don't play coy...concerned that no race sold out, that there were empty seats at every one of them...a lot in fact.
I'm not concerned one bit, I dont care about empty seats, I dont care if you enjoy it or not, I do. I've made myself clear I dont care if drivers take a pay cut, teams get less money for sponsors etc..... I love racing and thats it.

Fine, I love racing also, but I'm also concerned for the sport I love.

“Death Bed” threads need to expire in ten days or immediately after the funeral for whatever was on it — whichever comes first.

It’s really just airing grievances — and trolling...
