2018 Charlotte -- Bank Of America Roval 400 - Pre-Race Thread

Footage of Brett Bodine spinning the pace car. Burton: "We assume it's Brett, because it's spinning."

Add Newman and Elliott to the damage control list. Crews have put Newman and Stenhouse to work straightening sheet metal.

With that backstretch chicane, those folks in the RVs are going to get an eyeful.

New fast lap - McMurray 1:17.86. Ten seconds between fastest and slowest.

Erik Jones flat footed that thing, he didn't hold back.

He's not that good of a road racer atm, Jeff.

Foot cams were worthwhile when they had to shift. I don't find them as entertaining, informative, or enlightening these days.

Hey, you people in the Coke 'tailgating' ad? If you're not in a parking lot, you're not tailgating.

Bowyer 1:17:59

AJ hit 170 MPH before braking for the backstretch chicane. ADHDers cut away before we could get an exit speed.

Shrub 1:17:14 as the session ends. Jones on his heels at 1:17:15. Looks like he's figured out how to use the turtles to his advantage. I wonder what kind of time it will take to win Q?

Even if someone does figure it out, how are they going to remember? LOL this nuts

They can remember Sonoma and the Glen. Drivers in other series remember the lines around tracks with more turns than this. They'll remember; that's why they get the big checks.

NASCAR didnt do it, Drivers need to learn and they will.

I agree, with the exception of the wall exiting the backstretch chicane. It's stupidly shaped in a straight line, when it really needs to curve to the left and lead the drivers out of the turn. They're just asking for one car to hit it on Sunday, and then the rest that are behind him pile in because there's no place to go.

They have brakes now, and a steering wheel. :D

X practice - Yeley destroys the #38, plowing into the SAFER at the exit of turn 1 with the right front. Radiator peeing on the track. Says the brakes locked up.

Someone needs to come up with a good nickname for the wall coming out of the chicane. That's going to get tagged a bunch.
